Metfield Stores – your village shop

Could you spare 2 hours a week to help?
We’d like to top up our volunteer workforce to ensure we can keep the shop open for our customers throughout the winter. Lockdowns and illness, holidays, retirements and people moving away… these have all diminished our fabulous team of helpers over the past two years.

If you’d like to know more, Manager Sue would love to hear from you, so give her a call on 01379 586204. Training will be given. We have protective screens around the counter and ask our customers to kindly wear a mask.

Run by the community for the community…
We have a village shop to be proud of, well supported by locals and passing trade and run efficiently and successfully by a wonderful team of dedicated volunteers working with our popular and respected part-time manager, Sue Mead.

Deliveries for vulnerable village folk or Phone & Collect
Social distancing inside shop – 3 customers at a time only. Please wear a mask.

With regular fruit and veg deliveries, our customers can pre-order or come along and see what’s available. Excellent quality and reasonably priced. Take a look inside via the gallery below.

  1. Help! I would like a copy of the book ‘Metfield, Tales from a Suffolk Village’ 1928-2017′ for my family tree records.

Can anyone send me a copy – just let me know cost of book and postage – I live in Hampshire.
    Thank you. Georgina Shipman
