Thank you – to all our funders

Metfield Stores has been very fortunate to receive help and advice from a number of quarters since a dedicated group in the community first decided to save their endangered village shop.

We are grateful to the following organisations for advice or funding that has helped us to set up and run the business, to improve our knowledge and expertise and to maintain our cic which aims to serve the community:

Mid Suffolk District Council: A grant of £700 (May 2022) to upgrade equipment and facilities (thanks to Councillor Lavinia Hadingham). We purchased a more efficient and smaller table top electric oven to cook our sausage rolls and pies and a colour printer for our printed material (shop signs, Annual Report, newsletters, posters etc.).

Suffolk County Council: A grant of £446.00 thanks to Councillor Peter Gould (December 2021) to buy a new fridge/freezer.

Suffolk Village Shops Group: For getting set up and equipped.

BusinessLink: For funding advice and training from Sally Kelly at The Guild in Norwich and for funding Richard Rampton to prepare our business plan. businesslink.gov.uk

O2 It’s Your Community! For a grant in August 2009 of £950.00 to pay for a new Dutch awning that will help to reduce the costs of electricity by cutting down our need to use air conditioning in hot weather. It will also be an attractive feature for the shop. itsyourcommunity.co.uk
