Without our fabulous volunteers, Metfield Stores would not be able to function. Essential to keeping the shop open, they make it a welcoming place to work and shop.
Could you spare 2 hours a week to help?
We like to keep our workforce topped up so that we can be sure the shop stays open throughout the winter. Lockdowns, illness, holidays, retirement and people moving away… have all increased the turnover of our valued helpers.
New volunteers are always welcome and it’s a good way to get to know people and what’s going on in the village. Shifts are normally 2 hours. If you don’t fancy being behind the counter and operating the till, there is always work to do behind the scenes – restocking shelves, checking deliveries, checking Use By dates, cleaning and so on.

If you’d like to know more, our manager Sue would love to hear from you, so give her a call on 01379 586204 or pop in and introduce yourself (mornings are best).

Don’t worry, you won’t be left to your own devices – full training and support will be given. During Covid, we installed screens around the counter for your protection. Customers are no longer requested to wear a mask, but Volunteers are welcome to if they wish.
