Heatwave? Here? Throughout Europe, it seems. Extraordinary weather all over the world, in fact. We flew to Perth in Western Australia in early June and landed with huge white hailstones filling the sky and covering the pavements! In Sydney, we were COLD! Yes, it is their winter but it was extremely uncomfortable for a few weeks. And they don’t go in for heating very much, so we’d wake up to 13/14ºC indoors and it might reach a heady 17º by the middle of the day. Outside, it got up to 20º but there was mostly a chilly wind. In Tasmania, we had several frosty mornings, and a night or two before we arrived it was –5ºC at night. This is all very worrying for the planet, despite what naysayers would have us believe.
On to more cheerful matters… Hattens Farm celebrated their 40th anniversary and the BIG WEEKEND provided fun for all. Anyone got any pictures to put on the website please? Everyone who made these events so successful deserves thanks from the community. Lisa’s Anglian Organics Veg Shed opened at Hattens Farm – open every day from 9am to 5pm.
