We’re hardly likely to get bored this month in Metfield. People in and around the village are busy making, baking, sewing, writing and rehearsing for Christmassy events of every kind. The Christmas lunch has already happened. And there’s more to come – starting NEXT SATURDAY

But it’s worth remembering that Christmas is not a time of fun and jollity for everyone. So let’s spare a thought for those who might be lonely and welcome a short visit, or appreciate a lift to the shops or a bit of shopping done for them, or an invitation for a bite to eat, maybe just a change of scene, or to have someone put up their Christmas decorations or bring in the coal for them. Just a few moments of your time can make a whole heap of difference.
